In a hot-runner mold the runner-gate maintains a high temperature during the whole production process, which ensures that the plastic does not harden. Due to the higher construction effort connected with these molds, they are only profitable for medium-sized and large production lots.

The hot runner mold on the right hand side was designed and built by Selig&Boettcher. It has eight injection points, filling four cavities each.
